About Specus
Specus begins with a physical object. Its first object is the 42 mm modular watch SA-1, where a dial becomes a map and mounting points become an open interface. The same principles expand into a 420 mm wall object and then into the territory of Specus Village. Through these changes of scale, Specus studies centre, axis, direction, boundary, repetition, material, and participation. The research crosses engineering, art, astronomy, archaeology, and traditional thought. We call this approach reverse archaeology: knowledge is recovered through drawing, prototyping, making, and use.

Reverse archaeology
Specus works from the premise that lasting forms are often discovered before they are named. We study objects, spatial traditions, technical systems, and cosmological models to find structures that recur across periods and disciplines.
Research becomes a drawing, a dimension, a joint, a route, or a maintenance rule. Intellectual intuition proposes a direction; engineering and practice test whether it can take material form.

At 42 mm, SA-1 places a map on the wrist. At 420 mm, Art Object No. 01 turns the same geometry into a wall field with replaceable elements. At territorial scale, Village develops a boundary, entrance, centre, paths, functional directions, and shared rhythms.
The projects remain independent objects. Their proportions, interfaces, and spatial decisions make their relationship visible without explanatory symbolism.

Open practice
Drawings, specifications, mounting points, and replaceable modules give other people room to continue an object. The owner can configure, repair, commission, or design compatible parts instead of remaining a passive user.
The same principle guides the knowledge base and digital tools. Sources, decisions, and performance limits remain traceable so that each project can develop without losing its origin.
